Intersection of Two Trenches

Ir18.JPG (43609 bytes)

This shows the intersection of two trenches late in December 1937. The small white circles in the soil are shell layers, laid in succession by the Native American mound builders. The team eventually found eight mounds built on top of each other. In just three months, you can see just how far down into the earth the team has gone.
